Chevonne is an established Criminal Defence Specialist Caseworker having practiced solely in criminal law over a 16 year period and having worked in some of the most highly regarded practices in London. She is well known within the criminal court circuits and has a robust and diligent attitude in her preparation of the cases she is instructed in.

Chevonne has been a valuable member of Faradays Solicitors since 2013. She has extensive experience in working on more serious Crown Court cases and has proven to be successful with her diligent and robust approach. R v ME (2024) - Southwark Crown Court

Young and vulnerable female defendant charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs X 2 and money laundering offences, where the Crown offered no evidence after advancing a modern slavery defence, following a successful NRM decision and the defence utilising numerous experts to demonstrate the defendant was a victim of modern-day slavery.

R v DF (2024) - Snaresbrook Crown Court

Defendant charged in a multi handed possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life - Michael Goold of Garden Court instructed - Case on going.

R v TB (2024) - Basildon Crown Court

Defendant charged in a multi handed aggravated burglary - Victoria Mead of Garden Court instructed - Case on going.

R v MA (2024) - Snaresbrook Crown Court 

Conspiracy to supply Class A Drug - Elizabeth Lambert of Farringdon Chambers instructed - Case on going.

R V BF (2022) Inner London Crown Court

Chevonne Reid represented a London bus driver who pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving. Following Counsel Elizabeth Lambert's special reasons argument in the course of mitigation, the defendant was sentenced to 140 hours community service. The preparation of the case involved the instruction of CCTV and Accident Experts.

R v WB Conspiracy to commit Murder (2021) Central Criminal Court

Together with Claire Davies KC of Farringdon Chambers and Daniel Jameson of Garden Court Chambers, Chevonne represented the defendant in a multi-handed triple conspiracy to murder, namely contract killings said to arise as part of OCG and targets rival gang crime bosses. Defendant said to recruit others as the main organiser securing the sourcing of firearms, conducting surveillance and the hiring of hitmen.Tactically complex involving cell site, lip reading, voice recognition and linguist experts. Acquitted on all counts of conspiracy to murder.

R v SC (2021) - Central Criminal Court

Chevonne together with leading Counsel Mr Ian Henderson QC, and Claire Davies both from Faringdon Chambers represented defendant charged with Murder, Attempted Murder and Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life. Multi-handed murder cutthroat, involving gang rivalry. National Press Coverage whereby the press described the case - gangland murder as being reminiscent of a Hollywood film.

R V RC (2020) - Central Criminal Court 

Chevonne instructed leading Counsel Mr Michael Borrelli QC, together with Carol Hawley representing defendant charged with Murder, Possession of Knife and Robbery X 2. Complex case preparation  which included the instruction of Intermediary, Psychologist, Psychiatrist and Neurologist professionals.

R v MN (2021) - Bolton Crown Court 

Chevonne together with Counsel Charlotte Godber of QEB Hollis Whiteman Chambers represented the defendant  who was acquitted of all five counts the indictment (PWITS (class A) x 4 and possession of a firearm). The jury reached unanimous verdicts after a trial lasting five days. The defences relied on s.45 modern slavery and duress. The defence also relied on medical and CCTV expert report. Crime report obtained through disclosure and the live evidence of leading criminologist Professor Simon Harding ensured a successful outcome. 

R V PW (2019) - Barkingside Magistrates Court

Chevonne Reid together with Jack Jennett of Faringdon Chambers successfully opposed the cash detention seized following a fully contested hearing. The case arose out of a police search following arrest for firearms offences which were subsequently NFA'd.
